Christmas Countdown 2018 - Day 4

Fun not-a-card holiday project today!  This sweet "Hot Cocoa for Two" Snowman was inspired by my friend Tina Smith who made them to sell in a recent craft show.

NOTE:  This is NOT a Stampin' Up! project -- although some of the items used were from Stampin' Up!, many of the materials I used to make these sweet guys were found in my immense stash of craft supplies.

Start with three 2" square clear boxes.  Fill the bottom box with peppermint candy; fill the middle box with hot cocoa mix (mine holds 1/2 cup -- enough to make two cups of hot cocoa); fill the top box with mini marshmallows.  (NOTE:  I found poly bags at a local restaurant supply store and placed the bags inside the boxes before filling with cocoa mix and marshmallows.)  Use double-sided tape to hold the boxes together.

The hat was fussy cut from black card stock -- I free-handed an old hat shape, made a template and traced it onto the black card stock with a white chalk pen.  Another alternative is to simply cut a square and a long, narrow rectangle shape from black card stock to create the hat (see photo below of my friend Tina and her snowmen).  Wrap 1/4" red ribbon around the hat and add some holly leaves and berries (I used the retired Stampin' Up! Holly Berry Builder Punch to make mine from Garden Green card stock and red glitter paper).  Attach the hat with double-sided tape.

Use self-adhesive rhinestones to create the eyes, nose, mouth, and buttons.  Wrap some fun holiday ribbon around the top box and tie in a knot to create the scarf, and you're finished!

What a fun "couples" holiday gift!
