You Make Me Happy Card (Rose Hill August Card Kits To Go)

Good morning, stampers!  Today I'm sharing a card that I created for the August edition of Rose Hill Card Kits To Go.

Materials

Paper

* Pretty Peacock (base) card stock 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored and folded at 4-1/4”; 5-1/4” x 1-3/4”

* Shaded Spruce (accent) card stock 3” x 1-3/4” for ornate frame plus scraps for bouquet dies and punches

* Just Jade (accent) card stock scraps for bouquet element

* Vellum card stock scrap for bouquet die cut

* Whisper White card stock 5-1/4” x 4”; 3” x 7/8” for label

* Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper (“DSP”) 5-1/4” x 1-9/16”

Other

* Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad

* Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder

* Ornate Frames dies (fancy frame & label)

* Nature’s Roots dies (card stock bouquet element)

* In the Woods dies (vellum bouquet element)

* Sprig punch (card stock bouquet element)

* 1-1/2” Metallic Mesh Ribbon (Aug-Dec 2020 Catalog)

* 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

* Sentiment shown in sample is from “You Make My Day” by My Favorite Things

Assembly

1. Use embossing folder to add texture to 5-1/4" x 4" white card stock; adhere to card front.

2. Adhere 5-1/4” x 1-9/16” DSP to 5-1/4” x 1-3/4” base color card stock; adhere card stock to front of card.

3. Cut Ornate Frame from accent card stock.  Use Basic Gray ink to stamp sentiment of your choice on scrap of white card stock; cut out sentiment with coordinating label die from same die set.  Adhere sentiment to ornate frame, and adhere frame to card over DSP as shown.

4. Cut bouquet elements from card stock (see list above) and adhere to front of card as shown with glue dots or tiny dots of liquid glue.

5. Tie a short piece of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around a piece (about 1-1/2" long) of Metallic Mesh Ribbon; adhere over bouquet with glue dot.

Inside:

Stamp sentiment (optional) and adhere second piece of 5-1/4” x 4” white card stock to inside of card.

Since I didn't have enough DSP of the above design for all of the card kits needed, I also used these alternate colors for some of the kits.

* Garden Green (base) card stock

* Pear Pizzazz (accent) card stock

I hope you enjoy this card!  Don't hold your breath, but I think I'm going to try to be brave and make a video for this card within the next day or two.  If I actually do it, I'll add a link to this post!  EEK!!!!!

OOPS! on my blog . . . .

Hi, folks! Stampin' Up! recently made some changes to its online ordering process which affected all of the demonstrators' online stores.

How did this affect my blog?

Well, heck, you know all those images and links to products that I've been adding following the instructions for my projects? Now they don't work!!! Well, I should rephrase that a little: the pictures are no longer showing up; instead, there are a bunch of annoying little blank boxes! Sigh . . . .

The links listed for the products still work to a very limited extent -- they will take you to my demo website, but they will no longer take you to the specific products.  Double sigh . . . .

Since I've been adding these icons for some time, it would take a huge amount of time to go back and change or remove all of them.  Not only that, but Blogger also has recently made changes, so I can no longer correct a page without republishing it.  What this means is that if you follow my blog and I start "fixing" all of my pages to remove the blocks, you would start getting a ton of messages with "new" posts -- which in fact would be the OLD posts being re-published!

So here's what I'm going to do:  NOTHING!!!!

On my past posts where I've included the product links, we're going to just have to put up with the annoying little boxes.  Going forward I will not be adding any links to products, but will instead list all the product information without all the fancy photos.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Sunflower Birthday Card (Stamp Camp North 8/2020)

Today I'm sharing with you the card I made for Stamp Camp North (cards and card kits).  This card features the wonderful Sunflower Die from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  (Click on photos below for closer look.)

Materials

Paper

* Thick Whisper White card stock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2")

* Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, or Misty Moonlight card stock (5-3/16" x 3-15/16")

* White card stock (5" x 3-3/4"; 3-3/4" x 1/2")

* In Good Taste Designer Series Paper ("DSP") (3-1/2" x 3-1/2")

* Brushed Silver card stock ** (3-3/4" x 3/4"; about 1" square for die cut)

Inside:  MM, PP, or RR card stock (5-3/16" x 3-15/16"); Whisper White 5" x 3-3/4")

Other

* Sunflowers Dies

* Scripty 3D Embossing Folder

* 1-1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon *** (about 5")

* Silver Metallic Thread ** (about 8")

* Adhesives: SNAIL Adhesive; Liquid Glue (for die cuts); Tear 'n Tape

** Brushed Silver card stock and Silver Metallic Thread are retired Stampin' Up! products.

*** Metallic Mesh Ribbon is featured in the Aug.-Dec. 2020 Mini Catalog.

Assembly

(SNAIL or Stamp 'n Seal Adhesive used to assemble unless otherwise indicated.)

1. Score Thick White card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from score line to create card base.

2. Center and Adhere color card stock to card front.

3. Cut detailed sunflower die cut equally spaced from top and sides of 5-3/16" x 3-15/16" white card stock.  Use embossing folder to add texture to card stock (NOT the sunflower cutout).

4. Adhere DSP to back of card stock so design shows through sunflower cutout.  Adhere card stock to front of card over color card stock.

5. Line up detailed sunflower with cutout shape and use liquid glue to adhere center portion of flower to DSP.

6. Cut center of sunflower from Brushed Silver card stock (or use the same color of card stock as the color layer).  Adhere to center of sunflower with Stampin' Dimensionals or liquid glue.

7. Adhere 1/2" wide strip of white card stock to 3/4" wide Brushed Silver card stock (or use same color of card stock as color layer).  Gather and wrap metallic mesh from front to back and adhere with glue dots or other adhesive to back of 3/4" wide card stock.  Use Tear 'n Tape to attach this piece to front of card as shown.  Wrap Silver Metallic Thread around mesh and tie in a bow as shown.

Inside

On inside, layer 5-3/16" x 3-15/16" color card stock first, and then 5" x 3-3/4" white card stock.  For my sample I used a Crafters Companion die from my stash.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I absolutely love the sunflower die -- it's so detailed and delicate and beautiful!
