Christmas Countdown 2018 - Day 14

I LOVE this little gift box!  One of our stampers brought one of these as a gift for the woman who coordinates one of my stamp camps this past Saturday and I immediately came home and made several of them!  Quick and easy and so clever!

Pretty box, huh?!  But look what's inside!

You also could put a coffee cup inside . . . and Ghirardelli chocolates also fit perfectly into the pockets!

Materials for Basic Box Assembly

Paper
* Card Stock or Designer Series Paper (thicker is better for this project): 12” x 12” for box; 6-1/8” x 6-1/8” for lid

Accessories and Tools
* Simply Scored Scoring Tool
* Tear & Tape Adhesive

Other Stuff
* Straight Edge
* Pencil

Step by Step

1. Choose which side of the 12” x 12” paper you want to show on the outside of the box, and score at 4” from all edges.

2. Trace and cut a line diagonally from corner of paper to intersection of score lines (see diagram below).

3. On inside, fold diagonal flap over center square and secure with Tear & Tape; repeat with diagonal flap on other side.  (See photos below.)  This will form a pocket for a tea bag or other small, flat item.  Repeat on each side to create four pockets.

4. Score 1” from all edges of 6-1/8” x 6-1/8” paper.  Cut tabs as shown below; fold down at all score lines.  Apply Tear & Tape or Liquid Glue to RIGHT SIDE of corner tabs as shown, and fold the tabs under the flaps on adjacent sides to create lid.

5. Fold pockets up and drop lid over them to hold everything in place.

Now all you have to do is embellish and add gifts!!!

Yes, I know this looks a little confusing, and I’ve done my best to explain how to make the box.  Believe me – it’s MUCH EASIER to make the box than it is to write directions!!!!  Once you’ve made one, you’ll see just how simple it is.

Enjoy!!!
