Elegant Gift Card Holder (Stamp Camp North)

Today's card is actually a gift card holder that we made at my table at Stamp Camp North this past Saturday.  It's easy-peasy and creates a very nice presentation for a gift card.

I really like this card because it's quick and easy to make, and all you need to do is add a gift card for a perfect gift!  The paper is so elegant and the sentiment so simple that it can be used for any occasion (i.e., birthday, graduation, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, or even wedding).

Many thanks to Mary Knabe for sharing this design.  Visit Daffodil Afternoon Gift Card Holder & More - Stampin' Peace (stampinpeace.com) to see Mary's design, along with a video showing how it was assembled.

A few alternate versions showing different placement of "celebrate"

Materials:
  • Basic Black card stock: 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" (base)
  • Basic Gray card stock: 5-1/4" x 4", embossed with Hammered Metal embossing folder (first layer)
  • Basic Black card stock: 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" (second layer)
  • Simply Elegant 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper ("DSP"): 12" x 3", scored at 4" from each end)
  • Silver Foil card stock: about 4" x 1-1/2" ("celebrate")
  • Basic White card stock: 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" (inside)
  • Label Me Lovely Punch (inside, notch in gift card pocket)
  • Celebrate You Dies (Stampin' Up! retired)
  • Hammered Metal Embossing Folder
  • Adhesives: Liquid Glue, Tape Runner
Assembly:
  1. Emboss and adhere Basic Gray card stock to black card base.
  2. Center and adhere 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" Black card stock to Basic Gray card stock.
  3. Fold DSP away from score lines, folding one flap over the other.  Use a bone folder to smooth and even out edges.
  4. Use punch to cut a notch in the top center of the first panel.
  5. Run a thin line of liquid glue along inside left and bottom edge of first panel; fold down over center panel to create gift card pocket.
  6. Adhere 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" White card stock to inside of remaining panel.  Now you have a card with a gift card pocket on the left and a place to write a note on the right.
  7. Close card and apply adhesive to back of card; adhere to 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Black card stock.
  8. Use die to cut "celebrate" from Silver Foil; adhere to front with liquid glue.
