Summer Smooches Card (April Class Project)

This card features our April technique of the month - Faux Pressed Flowers.  I think this was my favorite card design last month!  It was designed by Dawn Sonju, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and uses the Designer Series Paper and fabric-covered brads featured in the April Summer Smooches Preview (the paper will be available in the new Stampin' Up! 2012-2013 catalog; the brads are no longer available -- but buttons would be really cute as the centers of these flowers too).

Instructions:

1.  Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.  Adhere 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" Whisper White card stock to front of card; adhere Designer Series Paper over the Whisper White.

2.  Cut Lattice Die shape from Whisper White card stock; center and lightly adhere to 3-1/2" square.  Emboss both thicknesses with the Pretty Polka Dots embossing folder.  Adhere to Tangering Tango 3-3/4" square.  Wrap Baker's Twine around about 3 times and tie a bow in the front.  Adhere to front of card.

3.  Cut two to three sets of leaves from Lucky Limeade card stock with the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die.  Adhere to front of card randomly as shown.  (I used Two-Way Glue Pen for this.)

3.  Cut 6 flowers from Tangerine Tango with the Blossom Party Die; adhere two flowers together, offsetting the petals, and insert Brad through both thicknesses.  If you're using a button, adhere the two flowers together, and then adhere the button with a Mini Glue Dot.  Adhere to front of card over leaves with Mini Glue Dots.

4.  Stamp sentiment on Whisper White card stock; cut out with Curly Label punch.  The bottom layer of the label was cut with the Movers and Shapers Curly Label die.  Adhere to front of card with Mini Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.
