Turtle-y Awesome Fun Fold Card (Craft Box 03-20-2026)

This card was inspired by my friend Janet Weisheit who made a very similar card for a swap last month.  Since I've had these turtles since sometime last year I decided it was time to use them.

This card looks difficult to make, but it's actually pretty easy!  It's kind of built in two separate pieces and then assembled into one card, so I took the two pieces apart on Janet's card to measure them.  Here's the info:

Materials:
* Real Red card stock:
    * 9” x 4-1/4”, scored at 1-1/4”, 2-1/2”, and 5-3/4” (card base)
    * 11” x 2-1/2”, scored at 5-1/2” (tall front and back panel)
* Bright yellow textured card stock: 5-1/4” x 2-1/4”
* Dark yellow textured card stock: 2” x 2-1/4”
* Light yellow textured card stock: 1-1/4” x 2-1/4”
* White card stock: 5-1/4” x 2-1/4” (back panel); 2” x 5/8” (sentiment)
* Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper: turtle cut-outs
* Freshly Baked patterned paper: 4" x 3"; 4" x 1" (polka dots)
* Washi Paper punch
Notes:
* Card stock, turtle paper and punch are from Stampin’ Up!
* Words on back are from Ali Express (knock-off of Stampin’ Up! Turtle-y Awesome stamp set); Happy Birthday is from Rubbernecker Stamps (now Brass & Bliss Craft Co.)
* Freshly Baked paper is by Close to My Heart

Assembly:
* Fold out card base and, with 1-1/4” section at bottom, adhere 4” x 1” polka dot paper to bottom flap.  Skip the next 1-1/4” section, and adhere 4” x 3” polka dot paper to the third section.  Set aside.
* Adhere 5-1/4” x 2-1/4” bright yellow textured card stock to front panel of red 11” x 2-1/2” card stock.  Use marker to trace across one 2-1/4” edge of 2-1/4” x 1-1/4” light yellow card stock and one 2-1/4” edge of 2-1/4” x 2” dark yellow card stock.  With marked edges toward the top, adhere dark yellow card stock to bottom of bright yellow card stock and adhere light yellow card stock over dark yellow card stock
* Adhere turtle cut-outs as shown (I used pieces of foam adhesive to pop up balloon and chef turtle).  If desired, use Q tip to smudge a shadow near feet of each turtle (see photo).
* Adhere Happy Birthday label to 2-1/4” x 3/4” red card stock; use foam adhesive to adhere label near bottom of light yellow card stock.
* Stamp sentiment on 5-1/4” x 2-1/4” white card stock and adhere to back flap of 11” x 2-1/2” red card stock.
* Apply adhesive near center of 1-1/4" bottom section of card base (over the polka dot paper); adhere front flap of red card stock, lining up the two pieces at the bottom.
* Apply adhesive near center of back panel on card base and adhere back of flap by folding it down over the adhesive.

A lot of words to describe a fairly easy process.  I'll try to get back to this in the next week or so and add a video tutorial -- as they say, a picture says a thousand words!
