Occasions/Sale-a-Bration Friendship Card

Click on image for closer look.
Today's card features a new stamp set and coordinating punch from the 2019 Occasions catalog.  This card was made for a demo swap in which I will be participating as soon as the weather cooperates.  (We've already had to cancel our meeting twice due to adverse driving conditions caused by one-day snow storms!!!)

Thanks to Tracy Jacobs for this card design.  Tracy used much more subtle colors for her card, so it's quite delicate compared to mine.  Click HERE to view Tracy's card on her Facebook page.

Instructions
(Unless otherwise indicated, SNAIL Adhesive used to assemble card.)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Old Olive card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.

2. Adhere 5" x 3-3/4" Very Vanilla card stock to front of card.

3. Use Sponge Dauber to apply Old Olive ink around edges of 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" DSP; adhere over Very Vanilla card stock.

4. Center and adhere 3-15/16" x 2-11/16" Old Olive card stock over DSP.

5. Use Big Shot and Embossing Folder to add texture to 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" Very Vanilla card stock; adhere over Old Olive card stock.

6. Use Big Shot and Layering Circles Die to cut 2-1/4" scalloped circle from Old Olive card stock; adhere as shown over textured Very Vanilla card stock.

7. Use 2" Circle Punch to cut circle from Calypso Coral card stock; adhere to center of Old Olive scalloped circle.

8. Use Big Shot and Stitched Shapes to cut 1-7/8" circle from Very Vanilla card stock; adhere to center of Calypso Coral circle.

9. Use Memento Ink to stamp butterflies on Very Vanilla card stock; use Sponge Daubers to apply ink as follows:  Calypso Coral around outer edges; Blushing Bride next (going toward center); Old Olive in center.  Cut out butterflies with Butterfly Duet Punch.  Decide where you want to position the large butterfly inside the circle, and stamp the antennae to line up with the butterfly image.  Fold wings back and adhere butterfly with one thin line of liquid glue down the center.  (NOTE:  This stamp set has both the large and small butterflies on the same stamp so they line up perfectly with the punch, which also has both butterflies.  I stamped and colored both butterflies and then used the smaller one on the inside -- see below.)

10.  Paint Butterfly and antennae with Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.

11.  Use Memento Ink to stamp banner and sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock.  Using Sponge Daubers, apply color in the same sequence as above (Calypso Coral on outside tails of banner; then Blushing Bride; and finally Old Olive -- daubed lightly -- in the center).  Cut out banner with Big Shot and Bunch of Banners Die.  Adhere to front of card as shown with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside of Card

You don't want to forget the inside for such a beautiful card, right?!  For the inside I used a Sponge Dauber to apply Old Olive ink around edges of the 5-1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla cardstock, and also the 4" x 11/16" DSP.  Adhere DSP across bottom edge of card stock; stamp sentiment and antennae with Memento Ink; adhere the small butterfly created in Step 9 above with a thin line of liquid glue down the center.

That's it!  You've created a beautiful card for a beautiful friend!

Hope you enjoyed this one!
