Happy Easter Card (Front Range Stampers Swap 3/20/2017)

Easter was the card swap theme at my Front Range Stampers demo meeting this month, so I chose the card below -- a fun and colorful Easter egg!

Instructions

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold at score line to create card base.

2. Use largest oval shape in the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut an egg from the center of the 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White card stock.  Use the Fluttering embossing folder to create texture.

3. On 4" x 3" Whisper White card stock, stamp the paint streak from Happy Celebrations several times in several colors.  The colors I used for my card are listed above in the order I stamped them; for the Marina Mist and Sweet Sugarplum only, I stamped once on scrap paper before stamping on the card stock to get a lighter shade that matched the intensity of the other three colors.  (Don't forget to clean your stamp between colors . . . .)

4. Line up and adhere 4" x 3" card stock to back of 5-1/4" x 4" textured cardstock so stripes show through oval.  (NOTE:  The stamp in this set is a straight paint streak; however, since it's photopolymer, it's pretty flexible and allows you to bend it into a gentle curve when you attach it to your acrylic block.)

5. Adhere 5-1/4" x 4" card stock to card front.

6. You can use any combination of flowers and leaves to embellish your Easter egg; the card stock colors and the dies/punches I used were:
  • Leaves - Pear Pizzazz (Rose Garden Thinlits Dies)
  • White Flower - Whisper White (Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Dies)
  • Small Purple Flower - Wisteria Wonder (Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Dies)
  • Large Yellow Flower - Daffodil Delight (Rose Garden Thinlits Dies)
  • Pink-ish Flower - Sweet Sugarplum (Petite Petals Punch)
  • Small White Flower - Whisper White (Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Dies)
I used Tombow Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves and the yellow flower to the card, and also to adhere the small flowers to the larger flowers, which I then adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

7. Make a small three-loop bow from Crushed Curry Baker's Twine and attach over yellow flower with a glue dot.

8. Finally, add tiny little pearls to the centers of the two remaining flowers.

DON'T FORGET THE INSIDE!!!!

9. For the inside of the card. use Wisteria Wonder ink to stamp the Easter sentiment from Suite Sentiments on a piece of 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White card stock.  (I used my MISTI to stamp it so I could line it up perfectly and then stamp it twice with Wisteria Wonder ink to intensify the color.)

10.  For the butterflies, use Sweet Sugarplum ink and stamp the image once on scrap paper before stamping on the card stock to get a lighter shade of that color.

That's it -- a perfect Easter egg!!!
