Explosion Card
This is one of my 03/13/10 Workshop Projects based on a design by Dawn Griffith. It fits nicely into a translucent envelope (just fold it down into a square before sealing). Note, though, that this shape (4" x 4") does not meet USPS standards for mailing, so if you want to send it to someone, you'll need to put it into a larger envelope.

Instructions
Basic Card Construction
1. Score 4" x 12" card stock at 2", 4", 6", 8", and 10". Score an "X" between the 2" and 6" score lines; score a second "X" between the 6" and 10" score lines. (Center of "X" will cross over the 4" and 8" score lines.)
2. Fold toward the front at the first diagonal score line so the paper lines up with the center (6") score line; fold forward at the second diagonal score line, lining up the edge with the edge from the first fold. Flatten paper back out and repeat for opposite diagonal score lines.
3. Fold forward at the 4" and 8" score lines; fold forward at the 2" and 10" score lines. DO NOT fold the 6" score line; it's used solely as a guide.
4. Flatten card back out, and using both hands, place a finger at the top and your thumb at the bottom of the 4" and 8" score lines and squeeze together. This will automatically fold the card into the shape shown in the second photo above.
Decorating
5. Adhere Rich Razzleberry card stock to center diamond shape with SNAIL Adhesive.
6. Punch Scallop Circle from Designer Series Paper. Stamp Flower image on Whisper White card stock, color with Stampin' Write Markers, and punch out with 1 3/8" Circle Punch. Adhere to Scallop Circle. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere over Rich Razzleberry. Stamp "for you" image on Whisper White card stock, punch out with Medium Jewelry Tag Punch. Use large-eye needle to thread linen thread through end of tag and tie a bow. Adhere below Scallop Circle with Mini Glue Dot.
7. Cut 3 5/8" x 3 3/4" Designer Series Paper in half lengthwise, creating two 3 3/4" x 1 13/16" pieces; adhere to outer flaps.
8. Cut one piece of 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" Designer Series Paper in half diagonally; cut one piece in half again, creating two triangles; adhere to large triangle areas of card.
9. Cut last piece of 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" Designer Series Paper in half diagonally; cut both pieces in half again; cut each of the resulting 4 triangles in half one last time. These 8 pieces will be adhered to small triangle areas of card.
That's it! Your card is finished!
