Elegant Swap Card
This is the second card I made for my March 23 Front Range Stampers swap (based on a design by Tami Black). Since I recently realized that the Ornament Punch was carried over from the Holiday '09 Mini Catalog and that it made a VERY COOL vase, I've been going a little punch crazy . . . .
Materials
Stamp Set

Card stock: Kraft (4 1/4" x 3 1/2"), Shimmery White (3 1/2" x 2 3/4"), Soft Suede (8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; 3 7/8" x 3 1/8"; scrap for punch), Whisper (5" x 3 3/4" for inside)
Any Soft Suede Designer Series Paper (DSP) (5 1/4" x 4"; 3 3/4" x 3")
Ink
Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad
Accessories
Ornament Punch (carried over from Holiday ’09 Mini)
Sizzix Big Shot
Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Folder
Frost White Shimmer Paint (carried over from Holiday ’09 Mini)
Stampin’ Sponge
Linen Thread
SNAIL Adhesive & Stampin’ Dimensionals
Instructions
1. Score 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card stock at 4 1/4"; fold away from score line to create card.
2. Lightly distress edges of each piece of card stock and card front with Soft Suede Stampin' Pad. Adhere larger piece of DSP to front of card; layer Kraft card stock, Soft Suede card stock and smaller piece of DSP; center and adhere to front of card.
3. Stamp outline of three-flower stem on Shimmery White card stock (see sample for placement); stamp solid portions of flowers several times over outlines. Adhere to front of card. (NOTE: If you want to have perfectly aligned flowers, you may use the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to position them.)
4. Position Ornament Punch about 1/4" over edge of Soft Suede card stock to create flat-bottomed vase. Emboss vase with Big Shot and Embossing Folder. Use Stampin' Sponge to apply Shimmer Paint to vase. Tie bow with linen thread around neck of vase. Adhere to Shimmery White card stock over flower stems with Stampin' Dimensionals.
5. Optional: Stamp flowers on 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White card stock and adhere to inside of card.
Enjoy!!!

6. Use Certainly Celery to stamp stems leading from center of paper out to flowers. Remove post-it-notes.*
7. Lightly distress edges of Orchid Opulence and Whisper White card stock with Lovely Lilac Stampin' Pad.
8. Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere Orchid Opulence to front of card near right edge; adhere Whisper White over Orchid Opulence. Explosion Card
This is one of my 03/13/10 Workshop Projects based on a design by Dawn Griffith. It fits nicely into a translucent envelope (just fold it down into a square before sealing). Note, though, that this shape (4" x 4") does not meet USPS standards for mailing, so if you want to send it to someone, you'll need to put it into a larger envelope.

Instructions
Basic Card Construction
1. Score 4" x 12" card stock at 2", 4", 6", 8", and 10". Score an "X" between the 2" and 6" score lines; score a second "X" between the 6" and 10" score lines. (Center of "X" will cross over the 4" and 8" score lines.)
2. Fold toward the front at the first diagonal score line so the paper lines up with the center (6") score line; fold forward at the second diagonal score line, lining up the edge with the edge from the first fold. Flatten paper back out and repeat for opposite diagonal score lines.
3. Fold forward at the 4" and 8" score lines; fold forward at the 2" and 10" score lines. DO NOT fold the 6" score line; it's used solely as a guide.
4. Flatten card back out, and using both hands, place a finger at the top and your thumb at the bottom of the 4" and 8" score lines and squeeze together. This will automatically fold the card into the shape shown in the second photo above.
Decorating
5. Adhere Rich Razzleberry card stock to center diamond shape with SNAIL Adhesive.
6. Punch Scallop Circle from Designer Series Paper. Stamp Flower image on Whisper White card stock, color with Stampin' Write Markers, and punch out with 1 3/8" Circle Punch. Adhere to Scallop Circle. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere over Rich Razzleberry. Stamp "for you" image on Whisper White card stock, punch out with Medium Jewelry Tag Punch. Use large-eye needle to thread linen thread through end of tag and tie a bow. Adhere below Scallop Circle with Mini Glue Dot.
7. Cut 3 5/8" x 3 3/4" Designer Series Paper in half lengthwise, creating two 3 3/4" x 1 13/16" pieces; adhere to outer flaps.
8. Cut one piece of 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" Designer Series Paper in half diagonally; cut one piece in half again, creating two triangles; adhere to large triangle areas of card.
9. Cut last piece of 3 5/8" x 3 5/8" Designer Series Paper in half diagonally; cut both pieces in half again; cut each of the resulting 4 triangles in half one last time. These 8 pieces will be adhered to small triangle areas of card.
That's it! Your card is finished!

* 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog
Instructions
1. Score 4 1/4" x 11" Not Quite Navy card stock at 5 1/2"; flip over and score at 2 3/4". Fold away from score lines. (Basically, all you're doing is folding the cardstock in half, and then folding one flap in half back up toward the front. It will look kind of like a "Z" or an "N" after folded.)
2. Place sticky strip across top section of card at top edge, and just above fold. Remove backing, line up 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Night of Navy cardstock over folded card and press down to adhere. (From the side, the card will look kind of like a small "n.")
3. Use Big Shot and Daisy Flower Sizzlit to cut one flower from So Saffron, one from Ruby Red, and one from Bordering Blue card stock; use Little Leaves Sizzlit to cut one stem with leaves from Mellow Moss card stock. Use Boho Blossoms Punch to cut three pointed petal flowers from Very Vanilla, and three from Mellow Moss card stock. Layer one Very Vanilla flower, one Mellow Moss flower, and one Daisy, and attach with a Night of Navy brad; repeat for other two flowers. Use Scallop Trim Border Punch to trim one long edge of 2 1/2" x 4" Not Quite Navy cardstock (line up one edge of paper with left edge of guide for first punch; repeat for 2 1/4" x 4" Designer Series Paper, lining up right edge of guide for first punch).
Inside
3. Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere 5 1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla card stock to inside of card; adhere 2 1/2" x 4" Not Quite Navy cardstock at bottom of Very Vanilla card stock; adhere 2 1/4" x 4" Designer Series Paper over Not Quite Navy; adhere 1" x 4" Not Quite Navy card stock over Designer Series Paper. Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere one of the daisies to the left.
Front
4. Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere triangle of Designer Series Paper at left and bottom edge of 5 1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla card stock. Wrap ribbon around front of card stock/designer series paper about 1" from bottom, and adhere in back on each side. Adhere this piece to front of card. Wrap another piece of ribbon around ribbon near left side, and tie in a double knot.
5. Stamp greeting on 3" x 3" Very Vanilla card stock with Not Quite Navy Classic Stampin' Pad. Adhere to 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" Not Quite Navy card stock; adhere to front of card about 1/2" from top of card. Use Two-Way Glue Pen to adhere leaves to front of card; use Mini Glue Dots to adhere one flower to front of card; use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere last flower over ribbon.
When you pull the top of the card, it will open up and out. You can then prop the bottom of the card front against the card stock on inside of card to create an "easel."

Instructions
Card insert:
1. Score 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" So Saffron cardstock at 4 7/16" and 4 9/16"; fold away from score lines to create card (this will create a wide fold in the center to accommodate the thickness of the pop-up portion of the card).
2. Score 5 1/4" x 10" Whisper White cardstock at 4", 5", and 6". Flip paper to opposite side and score at 4 1/2" and 5 1/6". Fold away from all score lines accordian-style. The center fold will look like an "M" at this point. Turn paper over and place sticky strip between the two outside folds; when you press the two folds together, you should have a "V" in the center of the card. Put sticky strip on both inside flaps of "V", but don't remove backing yet.
3. Use the Boho Blossoms Punch to make a bunch of flowers, and the Beautiful Wings die to cut a bunch of butterflies out of Designer Series Paper; cut six 3" x 1/4" and six 3 1/2" x 1/4" strips from Window Sheets or acetate sheets. Randomly adhere flowers and butterflies to one end of each acetate strip with Mini Glue Dots. Be sure to put flowers/butterflies on back sides of strips too.
4. Remove backing from sticky strip on one side of "V" and adhere acetate strips to sticky strip (make sure your flowers and butterflies don't hang over edge of cardstock so they stay within the card when it's closed); remove backing from opposite of "V" and fold closed to hold acetate strips in place. (Optional: Use a decorative edge punch to trim long edge of two pieces of 1" x 6" Designer Series Paper; adhere one piece to each side of base of flowers and butterflies to create a decorative finish; snip off excess on each end. If you like, you can stamp a greeting on the front strip before adhering.)
5. Flip card insert over and adhere sticky strip along each side of center seam. Carefully line up center seam with inside center fold of So Saffron card stock. Remove backing from sticky strip and fold up sides of card.
Card front:
6. Use Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder to create raised dots on Whisper White cardstock. Use Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch to cut bird and two wings from Bordering Blue and one branch from Old Olive card stock. Stamp greeting on Whisper White card stock with Basic Gray Classic Stampin' and punch out with Modern Label Punch. Punch a Wide Oval from Old Olive cardstock; punch Scallop Oval from So Saffron card stock. Use some of the flowers and small butterflies punched in Step 3 above to make elements to add to front of card. (Optional: Use Crop-a-Dile to punch dots out of Whisper White card stock for centers of flowers.)
7. Use Stampin' Sponge and Bordering Blue Classic Stampin' Pad to sponge color around edges of Whisper White card stock, and then lightly rub over entire piece to add color to raised dots; sponge Bordering Blue around edges of Bird and Wings, and ends of greeting on Modern Label.
8. Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere Old Olive card stock to front of card and Whisper White card stock over Old Olive. Use Two-Way Glue Pen to adhere branch to Whisper White; adhere back wing and bird over branch with Mini Glue Dots; adhere top wing over bird with a Stampin' Dimensional. Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere Scallop Oval to Wide Oval; adhere greeing over scallop oval; adhere piece to front of card with Mini Glue Dots. Adhere flowers and butterfly to front of card with Mini Glue Dots.
9. Use Basic Gray Stampin' Write Pen to draw eye on bird and antenna on butterfly.
10. Optional: Apply Crystal Effects to centers of flowers to add a bit of shine.
Hope this wasn't too confusing. Watching Valita's video will be very helpful for you. Enjoy!!!

Masculine Polished Stone Card
This is the card we made at my table at Stamp Camp West in February. It uses the polished stone technique -- very easy, but a little messy -- and you can't have allergies to rubbing alcohol.
Stamp Sets:
Lovely as a Tree (115026; set of 6; $27.95)
Fundamental Phrases (114968; set of 24; $37.95)
Card Stock:
Basic Black – 8 ½” x 5 ½”; 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”
Chocolate Chip – 5 ¼” x 4”
Old Olive – 3” x 3”
Really Rust – 3” x 3”; scrap for Modern Label punch
Very Vanilla - 5” x 3 ¾” (inside); scrap for Word Window punch
Glossy White – 3” x 3”
Ink:
Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad
More Mustard Classic Refill Ink
Old Olive Classic Refill Ink
Really Rust Classic Refill Ink
Accessories:
Stampin’ Sponge
Paper Piercing Template and Foam Pad
Paper Piercing Tool
Vintage Brads (black)
Bone Folder
Modern Label Punch
Word Window Punch
SNAIL Adhesive
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Other Supplies:
Cotton Ball
Paper Towels
Rubbing Alcohol
Assembly:
1. Score Basic Black card stock at 4 1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.
2. Fold paper towel in half twice to create 4 thicknesses, and place Glossy White card stock on top. Moisten cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Add 1 drop of More Mustard, 2 drops of Really Rust, and 2 drops of Old Olive to cotton ball. Daub cotton ball all over Glossy White card stock, covering entire surface with color. Set aside to dry.
3. Use Stampin’ Sponge (I cut my sponges in fourths before using them) to apply Chocolate Chip Classic Ink to outer edges of Old Olive and Really Rust card stock (including Really Rust Modern Label shape). Adhere Really Rust square to Chocolate Chip card stock about 1/8” from upper left corner; adhere Old Olive square about 1/8” from lower right corner (the two pieces will overlap in the center).
4. Stamp “Thanks” or “Celebrate” on Very Vanilla card stock; punch out with Word Window Punch. Adhere to Modern Label shape and apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to back of shape. DO NOT REMOVE BACKING. Set aside.
5. Glossy White card stock should now be dry. Use Stampin’ Sponge to apply Chocolate Chip ink to outer edges of card stock. Stamp tree image in center with Basic Black Classic Ink. Center and adhere to Basic Black square; adhere Basic Black square over Really Rust and Old Olive card stock about 3/8” from upper left corner of Really Rust square (refer to photo for placement).
6. Using Paper-Piercing Template, Foam Pad, and Paper Piercing Tool, punch three evenly-spaced holes about 3/8” from bottom of Old Olive square, and attach black brads through both thicknesses of card stock (see photo for placement). Use Bone Folder to flatten out prongs on back. Adhere to front of card.
7. Remove backing from Stampin’ Dimensionals on Modern Label shape and adhere to lower right side of card (refer to photo for placement).
8. Stamp greeting on Very Vanilla card stock (optional), and adhere to inside of card.
The ladies at Stamp Camp enjoyed this card because, unlike most of the other cards, it had NO glitter, NO ribbon, and NO flowers or birds!!!
I hope you enjoy it too!

Mini Magazine Holder
I've been trying to get this project up for days & days. I finally got all the diagrams drawn and have a few free minutes, so now it's time to post! Whew!!!
This mini magazine holder is made from a used tissue box (mine are the Kirkland brand that I buy at Costco). They're pretty easy to make . . . just require a few measurements before you get started. Hopefully, the TON-O-DIAGRAMS will be helpful to you in constructing your own little mini magazine holder. It's a lot easier than it may appear, and once you've made one, you'll be making tons of 'em to hold all your hand-made-cards and cards-in-progress.
Supplies:
One empty tissue box (about 5" tall x 4 1/4" wide by 4 3/8" deep)
Corresponding color of card stock: 4 3/4" x 8 1/4" (2 pieces); 6 1/4" x 6 1/4"
Sticky Strip
Assembly:
1. Remove the clear plastic stuff inside the top of the box; remove all plastic packaging from outside of box.
2. Cut the top of the box diagonally from the opening to one outside corner; repeat for the other three corners (Figure 1).
3. Two sides of the box have seams (Figure 2); one of these is the front of the box; the other is the back. For the back, fold the flap created in Step 2 down into the box and secure with Sticky Strip. For the front, remove and discard the top flap.
4. Remove the two side flaps on top of the box; fold front flap down, but do not remove (Figure 3).
5. Next, score and fold the front bottom flap in half toward the inside (Figure 4). Fold the folded flap back up toward the box and use as a guide to mark the two side pieces for the bottom tabs (Figure 5).
6. Using the marked lines as a reference, create one tab on each side of front by cutting at a slight downward angle (Figure 6). Continue cutting along the corner fold to the top of the box; remove the top portion of the flap, leaving the tabs at the bottom of the box.
7. Fold bottom front folded flap up and over the two side tabs and secure on the inside with Sticky Strip (Figure 7).
8. Turn box sideways and mark a diagonal score line from the top of the flap in the front to the top of box in back (Figure 8). Fold this flap to inside of box and secure with Sticky Strip. At this point, the box should look like Figure 9.
You could stop here, but if you want to make your box look a little more finished by adding an inside liner, continue on to Step 9. In addition to making your box prettier, adding a liner also will add support to the box so it will last longer.
9. To make the bottom inside lining, cut a piece of card stock 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". Score 1" from edge on all four sides. Using the score lines as a guide, cut and remove a 1" square from each corner (Figure 10). Fold up on all score lines and adhere to bottom of box with Sticky Strip (Figure 11).
10. Cut two pieces of cardstock 4 3/4" x 8 1/4"; score and fold at 4 1/8" (Figure 12). Place one piece of cardstock inside of box with the fold in the back corner, and draw a line along diagonal line on side (Figure 13). Cut about 1/4" below line and adhere to inside of box with Sticky Strip. Repeat with the other piece of cardstock on the opposite side.
Whew! Your box is now complete! I hope these instructions weren't totally confusing . . . if so, you're certainly welcome to contact me with questions.
Until next time . . . keep on craftin'!

Long time . . . no blog!!!!
Sorry it's been so long since I've added a new project to my blog. But guess what?! I have several new projects to add . . . so don't give up hope quite yet! If you check back later this week you should find several new projects, including a mini-magazine holder made from an empty tissue box, a couple of my recent swap cards, and a masculine card using the "polished stone" technique (my project from the recent Stamp Camp West).
In the meantime, thanks for being so patient and waiting for me to make my way through the Google Blogger book (she says with a sheepish grin).
