Fun Fold Card (Sassy Stampers Stamp Camp - April 2)

Stampers made this card at my table yesterday at Sassy Stampers Stamp Camp in Longmont, CO.  It was a fun day, and I really enjoyed visiting with all of the stampers!

Thanks to Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Mary Knabe for sharing this great fun-fold design!  Visit https://www.stampinpeace.com/stampin_peace/2022/02/bottom-flap-fun-fold-card.html to see Mary's original design, as well as a video tutorial showing how she made the card.

This is called a Bottom Flap Fun Fold Card and it opens like this:

First, open the bottom flap.

Then open the inside card.

These are the materials and cutting instructions for my card.  For assembly instructions, watch Mary's video tutorial (see link above).

Stamp Sets (sentiments):
* Love of Leaves (I thought of you today -- sample shown)
Some alternate stamps that also fit into the oval shape are:
* Pansy Patch (Happy Birthday)
* Queen Ann’s Lace (Hello Friend, Best Wishes, and thanks)

Ink:
* Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Paper:
* Old Olive card stock:
    5-1/4" x 8", scored at 4" (inner card base)
    5-1/4" x 1-1/4" (card stock layer on bottom flap)
    Scrap for scalloped oval behind sentiment
* Pear Pizzazz card stock:
    11" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2" (outer card base)
    To create bottom flap, begin at top of card and cut 2-3/4" along score line.  Turn paper one-quarter to the left and cut from right edge of card front to score line.
* White card stock:
    5" x 3-3/4" (inside)
    Scrap for sentiment
* 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum: scraps for butterflies
* Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper:
    5" x 3-3/4" (inner card front)
    5" x 1" (bottom flap)

Other Stuff:
* Brilliant Wings Dies (butterflies)
* Double Oval Punch (sentiment)

A few helpful tips to keep in mind as you're assembling your card:

1. Since there are essentially two cards -- one inside of the other -- I didn't want to create more thickness for mailing purposes, so nothing on my card is popped up.

2. To attach the butterflies, I used a thin line of liquid glue down the center of each.

3. When you adhere the sentiment to the bottom flap, to avoid gluing the card shut apply glue only to the bottom half of the scalloped oval.  (Ask me how I know this!  OOPS!)

It's always fun for me to create cards with surprise fun folds!  I hope you visit Mary's site for assembly instructions and make this card yourself.
