Fun Fold Winter Card (Crazy Card Chics September 2023)

Happy Fall, Stampers and Card Makers!  My Crazy Card Chics group got together this past weekend to offer a live stamp camp.  The cards were awesome and everyone had a great time making them!

This is the card we made at my table.  Yes, I understand that it's just barely fall, but winter is just around the corner!  And I couldn't resist trying this great card design inspired by Donna Ross, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Houston, Texas.  You can see Donna's card at Stamped Sophisticates.com.

This is a tri-fold card, so you have plenty of room to add several greetings as shown below.

Listed below are the ingredients for this card, including measurements.
NOTE:  Unless otherwise stated, materials are from Stampin' Up!

Simple Fun Fold Card Made Three Ways

Today I'm showing you a great quick and easy fun fold card that I made for two stamp camps and a card swap using different patterned paper for each.

Thanks to Patty Bennett for sharing this cute layout.  Visit Hello Ladybug Cards & New Product Video Review - Patty Stamps to see Patty's cards.

This first card was made for Crazy Card Chics August Collection.  The card base is 9-3/4" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2".  The patterned paper for the front is 4" x 4".  The inside is simply a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of vanilla card stock, with a coordinating piece of patterned paper cut at 4" x 1-1/2".  For the sentiment I cut a piece of vanilla card stock with the Scalloped Contours Dies from Stampin' Up!

The second card using the same layout was made using some new paper from the Stampin' Up! September-December 2023 mini catalog.

The card base for this one was cut slightly shorter because the patterned paper was from a 6" x 6" pack (All About Autumn), and I wanted to be able to get two or three pieces from each sheet.

The card base is 8-3/4" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2".  The patterned paper for the front is 4" x 3", and the patterned piece across the bottom is 4" x 2".  There was a tiny gap between the front flap and the patterned paper on the inside, so I added a 4" piece of  Wavy Trim to cover the gap.  The vanilla card stock and the mat piece were cut with the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

(The card stock looks like vanilla in this photo,
but it's actually white.)

The final card was made for another stamp camp, and this time I used 12" x 12" patterned paper, so I went back to the measurements for the original card above.  For this one, I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies for the sentiment, and cut a piece of navy card stock about 1/8" larger so it's a much narrower mat.

This is such a versatile layout -- you can vary the length of the card front or vary the size and shape for the sentiment piece, add a layer or go without a layer for that piece, pop up or not pop up the sentiment piece, etc.

I hope you enjoy these cards and perhaps try this layout yourself.  Here's how simple it is to make -- for the third version I was able to cut all of the paper for 54 card kits, including the die cut for the sentiment, in less than two hours!  Of course, I cheat a little -- I have a huge guillotine cutter that can cut 4 or more pieces of card stock at a time . . . .
