* Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (small flower)
* Scallop Trim Border Punch
* Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (about 8")
* Pearl Basic Jewels
* Crystal Effects
* Adhesives: Glue Dots; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; SNAIL Adhesive; Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions:

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from score line to create card.

2. Use Big Shot and Pretty Polka Dots embossing folder to emboss front of card.

3. Use Scallop Trim Border Punch to trim long edges of 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" Very Vanilla card stock and 5" x 3/4" Soft Suede card stock.  (NOTE: Soft Suede piece is purpose cut longer than the Very Vanilla to give you "wiggle room" when lining it up behind the Very Vanilla card stock.)  Line up the Soft Suede card stock behind the Very Vanilla card stock so the large scallops are alternating (see photo of card).  Cut away any overhanging edges of Soft Suede card stock.  Adhere Sahara Sand card stock over Very Vanilla using SNAIL Adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

4. Wrap ribbon around card stock from front to back and adhere ends to back with Glue Dots.  Adhere card stock to front of card. Tuck small piece of ribbon under ribbon on the card and tie in a knot.  (You may also use a pair of tweezers to pull off a Glue Dot and attach it to the back of the knot to secure it to the card.)

5. Stamp banner on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with Bitty Banners Framelits Die.  Adhere to front of card as shown with Stampin' Dimensionals (I cut one in half and put one half under each end of shape).

6. Punch bon bons from card stock as follows:  Mark the opening of your 1" punch with a marker or tape as shown in the photo.  Place card stock in punch only to the marks; punch two pieces of Early Espresso (dark chocolate); two pieces of Soft Suede (milk chocolate); and two pieces of Very Vanilla (white chocolate).

7. Use Adorning Accents, Delicate Details and Pretty Polka Dots embossing folders and Big Shot to add texture to the bon bons. Adhere to front of card as shown with Stampin' Dimensionals.

8. Punch two hearts (Owl Builder Punch) and two tiny circles (Cupcake Builder Punch) from Cherry Cobbler card stock; one flower from Very Vanilla; one flower from Early Espresso; and the small and medium-sized butterflies (Beautiful Wings embosslit) from Vellum card stock.  Adhere to bon bons with tiny drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Glue Dots.  Attach pearls to butterflies; cover all the Cherry Cobbler pieces with a thin layer of Crystal Effects, and set aside to dry.

Don't you know someone who deserves some chocolates?!

Pansy Card (August class project)

This is one of the cards we made in my August classes.  I really wish I could give credit to the creator, but I don't know who it is -- this was among the hundreds of swap cards my fellow demonstrators brought to show everyone when they returned from Convention in July.

Layered Window Frame Card (August Class Project)

This card was inspired by Laura Lipe, whose card was recently featured in my "Weekly Inkling" from SplitCoastStampers.com.  (See more info about this below.)

Materials

Stamp Sets:
* Serene Silhouettes
* Papaya Collage
* Really Good Greetings

Paper:
* Chocolate Chip card stock (11" x 4-1/4")
* Baked Brown Sugar card stock (about 4-1/2" x 4-1/2")
* Naturals Ivory card stock (3-1/4" x 1-1/2" - 2 pcs.; about 4" x 4")

Ink:
* Baked Brown Sugar Classic Stampin' Pad
* Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad

Accessories and Tools:
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and Magnetic Base
* Labels Collection Framelits Dies
* Stampin' Sponge
* Stretch Ruffled Ribbon (Baked Brown Sugar)
* Crystal Effects
* SNAIL Adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Additional Tools and Supplies:
* Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (Glue Dots also may work)

Instructions

1. Score 11" x 4-1/4" card stock at 3-1/2" and 7-1/2"; turn paper over and score at 4-1/2" and 6-1/2".  Fold away from score lines.

2. Center largest die in Labels Collection over folded card stock; roll through Big Shot to create card base.

3. Use second from largest die to cut shape from Baked Brown Sugar card stock; use third from largest die to cut shape from Naturals Ivory card stock.

4. Use Stampin' Sponge to apply Baked Brown Sugar ink to edges of all Naturals Ivory and Baked Brown Sugar card stock.

5. Use Chocolate Chip ink to stamp one end of frame from Payapa Collage on each of the two 3-1/4" x 1-1/2" pieces of Naturals Ivory; adhere one to front of each side flap on card base.

6. Use Chocolate Chip ink to stamp flowers near left edge of Naturals Ivory Window Frame shape; WITHOUT REINKING, lightly stamp another image slightly to the upper right of first image.  Reink stamp and stamp another flower image near the lower right edge of shape.  Stamp sentiment near top right edge of shape (refer to photo for placement). Tie a knot in ribbon (pull edges of ruffle out as you tighten knot to create the rosette); use hot glue or glue dots to adhere ribbon across bottom front of shape and to secure ends on back.

7.  Use SNAIL or Liquid Glue to adhere Baked Brown Sugar Window Frame shape to raised center 2" of Chocolate Chip card base.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere Naturals Ivory shape over Baked Brown Sugar shape.

8.  Use Crystal Effects to trace over the letters in the words "LIVE" and "IMAGINED."  Dab Crystal Effects at ends of the two darkest flower images (I didn't add any to the lighter shaded flower).

That's it!

I know without photos these instructions may be difficult, so to see a wonderful tutorial on how to make this card -- complete with photos, visit http://www.splitcoaststampers.com.  Click on the "Tutorials" tab and look for the "Layered Window Frame."  I varied from the original instructions in only a couple of areas -- i.e., I did NOT trace around and cut one of the shapes -- I used the dies as they came in the package.

And now for the fun part!  Here are some photos showing variations of this same card.

This wonderful holiday card was made by Teresa Buchholz, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Raleigh, NC.  To see more of Teresa's creations, visit her blog at http://stampfabulous.com/.

This sympathy card was made by my friend Kay Weaver, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Northglenn, CO.

This is another wonderful creation by Laura Lipe.  How fun is this?!  You can view more of Laura's fun and beautiful creations at http://smileslaura.blogspot.com.
And finally, this Halloween card is a design I will be using to show this technique to my Stampin' Up! demo buddies at the August Front Range Stampers meeting.  These photos really show what a versatile design this layered card can be.  Hope you enjoy it!
