* Vellum card stock: 3" x 2"

Ink:
* StazOn - Jet Black
* Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' Pad

Accessories and Tools:
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
* Cannery Framelits Set
* Bitty Banners Framelits Set
* Sizzlitz S Pinwheel (Spring catalog)
*
* 1/8" Mini Brads
* Cloudy Day Embossing Folder (Spring catalog)
* Word Window Punch
* Melon Mambo Striped Organdy Ribbon (Spring catalog)
* White Baker's Twine
* 1/16" Circle Punch
* Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Instructions:

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" paper at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.

2. Adhere Melon Mambo card stock to front of card.

3. Cut Whisper White card stock in half creating two 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" pieces.  Emboss one piece with Big Shot and embossing folder.  Line pieces up with edges touching -- embossed piece on top, and run a line of SNAIL Adhesive across joining.  Lay ribbon across SNAIL Adhesive to join the two pieces together.  Wrap ribbon around and adhere on back.  Adhere this piece over Melon Mambo.

4. Use Big Shot to cut three Pinwheels from Designer Series Paper.  Assemble all three pinwheels (see this You Tube video for some helpful hints on pinwheel assembly).  Cut three narrow strips of Lucky Limeade card stock; adhere one to the back of each pinwheel with a Glue Dot.

5. Use StazOn Ink to stamp jar image on Vellum card stock; use Big Shot and Cannery Sizzlits to cut out image.  DO NOT ADHERE, but just set your jar on the front of the card where you want it positioned, and then adhere each pinwheel to the card with a Glue Dot, positioning them so the stems appear to come through the top of the jar.  Cut off excess from bottoms of stems.  Remove jar.

6. Cut a large banner from Melon Mambo card stock using Big Shot and Bitty Banners Sizzlit die.  Stamp sentiment on scrap of Whisper White card stock with Lucky Limeade ink; cut out with Word Window punch.  Adhere to Melon Mambo banner.  Punch a 1/16" hole at left end of banner.

7. Wrap Baker's Twine around top of Vellum jar and tie in a knot near the right side of the jar.  Thread end of twine through hole in banner; tie in a knot and cut ends to about 1/4".  Slide top of jar under pinwheels and adhere to front of card with Stampin' Dimensionals -- I used just two dimensionals at the top of the jar -- the rest of the jar hangs free.  Use one more Stampin' Dimensional to adhere bottom of banner to front of card.

8. Tie a knot in a small length of ribbon; adhere to card over ribbon with a Glue Dot.

This was so much fun to make . . . we tried several different ways to assemble the pinwheel before I found these instructions, but they look like they work pretty well . . . hope you decide to try it too!

Love and Sympathy (April class project with instructions)

This sympathy card is based on a design by Selene Kimpton.  To see Selene's original design, as well as some other cards by Selene visit her blog at http://stampinfunwithselene.blogspot.com.

Materials:

Stamp Set:
* Love and Sympathy

Paper:
* Sahara Sand card stock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"; 5-1/4" x 4"
* Primrose Petals card stock: 3-3/4" x 2-3/4"
* Very Vanilla card stock: 3-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Ink:
* Stampin' Write Markers: Primrose Petals; Saraha Sand; Soft Suede

Accessories and Tools:
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
* Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (Spring Catalog)
* Satin Stitched Ribbon - Primrose Petals
* Adhesives: SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals; Glue Dots; Multipurpose Liquid Glue (optional)

Instructions:

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.

2. Emboss 5-1/4" x 4" card stock with Big Shot and Embossing Folder.  (TIP: Cut card stock to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" to emboss; cut to 5-1/4" x 4" after embossing -- the embossing folder sometimes "scrunches" up the card stock to smaller size.)

3. Create a "faux" knot near one end of ribbon; wrap around embossed card stock and adhere on back.  (NOTE: To create "faux" knot, cut a small piece of ribbon -- maybe 2" to 2-1/2".  Cut larger piece of ribbon long enough to wrap around card plus maybe 1/2" to 1".  Start to tie a knot in the larger piece of ribbon, but before tightening up the loop, insert the short piece of ribbon through the loop -- then tighten it up.  Presto!  A faux knot!)

4. Adhere embossed card stock to front of card.  (HINT:  SNAIL Adhesive will work for this; however, Multipurpose Liquid Glue provides a stronger bond for embossed card stock.)

5. Use Sahara Sand marker to paint leaves on flower stamp; use Primrose Petals marker to paint flower; stamp image on 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" Very Vanilla card stock.  Use Primrose Petals marker to paint LOVE on sentiment stamp; use Soft Suede marker to paint remaining words; stamp over flower stems.  Adhere card stock to Primrose Petals card stock.  Adhere to front of card over ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

TIP:  For the inside you can cut a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  After you stamp the  flower image, you can "huff" on the stamp and without reinking it stamp a lighter version on the inside card stock.  I was actually able to use this process to stamp a third image on the envelope!

Hope you like this card.
