Beautiful Backgrounds Cards

Good morning!  I'm finally getting around to posting photos from the class I did at The Craft Box at the end of March!  These are the cards from the Beautiful Backgrounds Class, and each has its own unique way of creating the fun background.

Click on image for a closer look.
Below are materials lists and instructions for each of the cards.

Card 1:  Amazing

Materials

Stamp Set
* Waterfront (2018 Occasions Catalog; 2018-2019 Annual Catalog)

Paper
* Melon Mambo card stock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2")
* Basic Black card stock (5-1/4" x 4")
* Glossy White card stock (5-1/8" x 3-7/8")
* Champagne Foil sheet (about 2" x 3-1/2")

Ink
* Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad
* Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad (inside)
* Refill Ink: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Marina Mist, Pool Party

Accessories and Tools
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
* Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (2018 SAB Catalog; returning in 2018-2019 Annual Catalog)
* Adhesives: SNAIL Adhesive; Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Miscellaneous Items
* Cotton Balls
* Rubbing Alcohol (at least 90%)

Instructions

1.  Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card base.

2. Adhere Basic Black 5-1/4" x 4" card stock to front of card.

3. Apply streaks of ink to 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Glossy White card stock as follows (apply colors in sequence listed above):
* Add rubbing alcohol to cotton ball (the cotton ball should be wet, but not saturated and drippy)
* Add a few drops of Refill Ink to cotton ball over alcohol.
* Smear ink horizontally across card stock.
* Move on to next color with a new cotton ball and repeat steps above, overlapping colors slightly.
(See figures 1-8 of background color sequence below.)

NOTE: When I was preparing for this class, I could find only jumbo cotton balls, so I cut them in half and clipped them inside small clothespins.  I color-coded all of the clothespins with the color of refill ink being used.  I also provided a small container of rubbing alcohol for dipping the cotton ball.  This all made the mess a little more manageable.

4. When all colors have been applied, use Basic Black ink to stamp Waterfront images.  (See steps 1-6 of the stamping sequence below.)

5. Use Big Shot and Die to cut "amazing" from Champagne Foil sheet and adhere to card as shown with tiny drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

That's it!  Except for the inside of course.  I used Smoky Slate Ink to stamp the images on the inside of the card as shown in the photo below.
