Guy Card (Stamp Camp North Card 6/10/2017)

Hi, folks!  This is the card we made at my table at yesterday's Stamp Camp North -- a guy card just in time for Father's Day.

Click on image for closer look.
This sample card reads "thinking of you," but the stamp set I used for the greeting (Teeny Tiny Wishes) has 24 different greetings from which you can select, including happy birthday, get well wishes, thank you, with sympathy, happy father's day, etc.

Materials

Stamp Sets
* Lovely as a Tree
* Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper
* Early Espresso (8-1/2" x 5-1/2")
* Tranquil Tide (3-1/4" x 3-1/4"; 2-5/8" x 7/8")
* Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack ("DSP") (3" x 3"; 2-3/8" x 5/8")
* Glossy White card stock (2-5/8" x 2-5/8"; scrap for label)

Ink
* Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin' Pad
* Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad
* Memento (Tuxedo Black)
* Stampin' Write Markers:  Early Espresso and Soft Suede

Accessories and Tools
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
* Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Embossing Folder
* Classic Label Punch
* Adhesives: SNAIL Adhesive; Stampin' Dimensionals

Found Items
* 1/2" Spouncers (small sponge daubers on wooden handles found at local craft store)

Instructions
(NOTE:  SNAIL Adhesive used throughout unless otherwise indicated)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from score line to form card.

2. Use Big Shot and embossing folder to add texture to front of card.

3. Use Memento Ink to stamp tree on 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" Glossy White card stock and to stamp sentiment on scrap of Glossy White card stock.  (NOTE:  This takes a few minutes to dry; you need to make sure it's completely dry before moving on to the next step.)

4. Using small sponge dauber and Lemon Lime Stampin' Pad, add light base of color to tree and ground below the tree.  Switch to the Tranquil Tide Stampin' Pad, and fill in with the darker color to add dimension to the tree and the ground below.  Use brush end of Soft Suede marker to color the tree trunk; use Early Espresso to add some shading and depth.

5. Adhere the 3" x 3" DSP to the Tranquil Tide 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" card stock; adhere the 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" Glossy White card stock over the DSP.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this piece to the front of the card as shown.

6. Adhere the 2-3/8" x 5/8" DSP to the 2-5/8" x 7/8" Tranquil Tide card stock; punch out sentiment with Classic Label Punch and adhere it over the DSP.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this piece to the front of the card below tree image as shown.

Don't forget the inside!  For the inside piece, I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp a few of the leaf images from the Lovely as a Tree set on a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I also used Crumb Cake to stamp an image of the tree on the front of the envelope, and then added a few random leaf images on the flap.

That's it!  My "Bob-approved" guy card!  (I've been so used to putting big fluffy bows on so many of my recent cards that this one felt plain and kind of bare . . . but when I showed it to my husband, he said, "Cath, it's a GUY CARD!  It's not supposed to have ribbons and bows!  It's finished!!!")

Hope you enjoy this card!

Instructions
(NOTE: SNAIL Adhesive used throughout unless otherwise indicated)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" thick card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from score line to create card base.

3. Punch Daisy out of 4" x 2-3/4" Whisper White card stock.  Use Memento Ink to stamp Thank You near bottom of card stock; adhere to front of card over DSP.  Use Memento Ink to stamp daisy petals on punched out daisy; use Daffodil Delight ink to stamp center of daisy.  Use Stampin' Dimensional to adhere punched out daisy shape to center of daisy on card front, turning slightly so yellow background petals show between white petals.

4. Make a small bow from Baker's Twine and adhere to upper left hand corner of DSP with a Glue Dot.

Pretty easy, right?!  A nice, freshly cut flower for a friend!
