Tri-Panel Accordion Card (Stamp Camp North 3/11/2017)

Happy First Day of Daylight Savings Time!!!  This one snuck up on me -- just wasn't paying attention.  So it was a shocker this morning for me when I woke up at 4 a.m. and it was now 5 a.m.!  So the first order of business this morning was to wander around my house changing the time on all my clocks.  I don't guess I really mind DST; but I was a little bit bummed this morning that it was still dark outside at 6 a.m.

Anyway . . . on to today's card!  We made this accordion card at my table at Stamp Camp North yesterday (this month's theme was unusual folds).  This card goes together very quickly and is a great way to get rid of small pieces of Designer Series Paper.

Click on any photo for closer look.

The inspiration for this card came from a monthly newsletter I receive from Technique Junkies (http://techniquejunkies.com/).  The Tri-Fold Accordion card was featured in the January issue -- I tweaked it a little for my card.

* Whisper White card stock (12" x 5-1/2")
* Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper ("DSP") (front panel: 5" x 1-1/4"; back panel: 5" x 1-3/8")
* Silver Foil Paper (about 2-1/2" x 2" for flower on tag)

Tools and Accessories
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
* Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies (2017 Occasions Mini Catalog)
* Fluttering Embossing Folder
* Linen Thread
* Silver Metallic Thread
* Adhesives:  SNAIL Adhesive; Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Glue Dots

Instructions
(SNAIL Adhesive used throughout unless otherwise indicated)

1. Score 12" z 5-1/4" card stock at 4", 6-1/2", 9" and 10-1/2"; fold accordion-style, beginning with a "mountain" fold, and ending with a "valley" fold.  (See photo below.)

2. Adhere 5" x 1-1/4" DSP to 5-1/8" x 1-3/8" card stock; adhere card stock to front panel.

3. Use Big Shot and embossing folder to add butterflies texture to 5" x 2-1/4" Sweet Sugarplum card stock; adhere to 5-1/8" x 2-3/8" Rich Razzleberry card stock; adhere card stock to center panel.

4. Adhere 5" x 1-3/8" DSP to 5-1/8" x 1-1/2" card stock; adhere card stock about 1/8" from right edge of back panel.

5. Adhere back of last panel to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card stock.

6. Use Big Shot and thinlits dies to cut one solid oval tag from Rich Razzleberry card stock; cut flower detailed tag from Silver Foil.  Use tiny dots of Tombow Liquid Glue to adhere silver flower tag to solid oval tag.  Apply adhesive to back of tag (left side only) and adhere to front panel.

7. Make a three-loop bow from Linen Thread and Silver Metallic Thread held together and adhere to top of tag with a Glue Dot.

I think this also would make a great kid's card using bright colors of card stock and attaching balloons instead of the flower tag.  If I have time to try one this afternoon I'll share it with you tomorrow.
