Pleasant Poppies (Front Range Stampers Swap)

This is the card I made for my Front Range Stampers challenge this month -- the challenge being to make a card using white + one other color (shades of that color were ok).  So, as you can tell, I chose shades of yellow!  I think it's just a happy card!

3. Use More Mustard Stampin' Write Marker to color Thanks; use Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Market to color design around outside of word.  Stamp on scrap of Whisper White card stock and punch out with Scallop Oval Punch.  Use Stampin' Sponges to apply More Mustard ink around edge of Scallop Oval.  Adhere to front of card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Serene Silhouettes (100-card Swap)

Howdy, folks!  I'm on a conference call that has little to do with me, so I decided I could multi-task -- listen to all these people talk and at the same time add another card to my blog for you to enjoy.  This is the card I'm making for a 100-card swap that's due the end of this month.  This would make a good all-occasion card for a man or woman. Click on the image above for a closer view.

Materials:

Stamp Sets:
* En Francais (109521-w $17.95; set of 1)
* Serene Silhouettes (127322-w $24.95; 127324-c $17.95; set of 4)

Paper:
* Always Artichoke card stock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2"; 3-1/8" x 2-1/8") (105119, 8-1/2" x 11"; 24 sheets; $6.95)
* Whisper White card stock (5-1/8" x 3-7/8"; 3-1/4" x 2-1/4"; 3" x 2") (100730, 8-1/2" x 11"; 40 sheets; $8.50)
* Crumb Cake card stock (5" x 3-3/4") (120953, 8-1/2" x 11"; 24 sheets; $6.95)

Ink:
* Always Artichoke Classic Stampin' Pad (126972 $5.95; refill ink: 105232 $2.95)
* VersaMark Pad (102283 $7.50; refill ink: 102193 $3.95)

Accessories & Tools:
* Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder (109130, 1/2 oz., $4.75)
* Pewter Stampin' Emboss Powder (124114, 1/2 oz., $4.75)
* Heat Tool (129053, $29.95)
* Always Artichoke 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon (121000, 10 yds., $6.95)
* Stampin' Sponge (101610, 3 sponges, $3.50)
* SNAIL Adhesive (104332, 472", $6.95; refill: 104331, $4.50)
* Stampin' Dimensionals (104430, 300 dots, $3.95)

Instructions:
(Unless otherwise indicated, SNAIL Adhesive is used throughout.)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from score line to create card.

2. Use Stampin' Sponge to apply Always Artichoke to edges of all pieces of card stock, including front of card itself.  I also added a little more sponging around the corners of the Crumb Cake card stock.  (NOTE:  I cut my Stampin' Sponges in fourths -- they're easier to handle and essentially give you 12 sponges per package.)

3. Adhere largest piece of Whisper White card stock to front of card.

4. Use VersaMark to stamp En Francais on Crumb Cake card stock; emboss with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Tie a knot about 1-1/2" from one end of ribbon; wrap from front to back and adhere ends to back of Crumb Cake card stock.  Adhere Crumb Cake card stock to front of card over Whisper White card stock.

5. Adhere 3-1/8" x 2-1/8" Always Artichoke card stock to 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" Whisper White card stock.  Use VersaMark to stamp tree image on 3" x 2" Whisper White card stock; emboss with Pewter Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Adhere to 3-1/8" x 2-1/8" Always Artichoke card stock.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this 3-layer piece to front of card as shown.

That's it!  A simple, fairly inexpensive card to make -- stamp a stack and stash 'em away so you'll have them on hand for any upcoming occasion!

Enjoy!

Sympathy Card (Serene Silhouettes)

Of all the cards I've made recently, this probably isn't my favorite, but I needed a sympathy card, so this is what I came up with.  Hope you like it.

Materials:

Stamp Sets:
* Serene Silhouettes (127332-w $24.95; 127324-c $17.95; set of 4)
* Sweet Essentials (126455-w $19.95; 126457-c $14.95; set of 8)

Paper:
* Basic Gray card stock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2"; about 3" x 4" for die cut) (121044, 8-1/2" x 11"; 24 sheets; $6.95)
* Whisper White card stock (5-1/4" x 4"; about 2-1/2" x 3" for die cut; about 3/4" x 5-1/2" for banner) (100730, 8-1/2" x 11", 40 sheets; $8.50)
* Wisteria Wonder card stock (5-1/8" x 3-7/8") (122922, 8-1/2" x 11", 24 sheets; $6.95)

Ink:
* Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad (126981, $5.95; refill ink: 109121, $2.95)
* Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad (126985, $5.95; refill ink: 122931 $2.95)

Accessories:
* Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (113439, $99.95)
* Elegant Lines Embossing Folder (119277, $7.95)
* Labels Collection Framelits (125598, set of 6, $26.95)
* Petal Cone Bigz L Die (121810, $32.95)
* Stampin' Sponge (101610, 3 sponges, $3.50)
* Glue Dots (103683, 300 dots, $4.95)
* Multi-purpose Liquid Glue (110755, 0.875 oz., $3.95)
* SNAIL Adhesive (104332, 472", $6.95; refill: 104331, $4.50)
* Stampin' Dimensionals (104430, 300 dots, $3.95)

Instructions:
(Note:  SNAIL Adhesive used throughout unless otherwise indicated.)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.

2. Use Basic Gray ink to stamp tree/birds image on Whisper White card stock; cut out with second from smallest size Framelit.  Cut Basic Gray shape with next larger Framelit.

3. Use Basic Gray ink to stamp "thinking of you" on Whisper White card stock; cut out with banner from Petal Cone Die.

4. Emboss Wisteria Wonder card stock with Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.

5. Use Stampin' Sponge to apply Basic Gray ink to edges of all pieces; use Stampin' Sponge to daub Wisteria Wonder ink on Whisper White tree/birds label.

6. Adhere 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White card stock to front of card.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere Wisteria Wonder embossed card stock over Whisper White (I think the Liquid Glue holds better than SNAIL Adhesive for embossed/textured card stock).

7. Adhere Whisper White label to Basic Gray label; adhere to front of card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

8. Soften banner by running it across Bone Folder several times on both sides (similar to curling ribbon with a pair of scissors); crinkle the banner back at each end of "thinking of you" and adhere to front of card with Glue Dots.

I hope you enjoy this card!  I think it also would be pretty -- and probably more cheerful -- using brighter colors.
