Daring Adventure Card (June 2012 Class Project)

Since Father's Day is coming up very soon, I thought we should have a manly card for one of our projects.  This one is loosely based on a design by Loll Thompson.  To see Loll's original card, as well as more of her wonderful creations, click here.

Materials:

Stamp Set:

* Daring Adventure (122600-w $20.95; 122602-c $15.95; set of 4)

Ink:
* Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (126974 $5.95; refill 119789 $2.95)
* River Rock Classic Stampin’ Pad (126977 $5.95; refill 109016 $2.95)
* Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad (126978 $5.95; refill 115663 $2.95)

Paper:
* Soft Suede card stock (8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, 3-3/8” x 2-5/8”; 4-3/16” x 1-1/8”) (115318; 8-1/2” x 11”, 24 sheets, $6.95)
* Midnight Muse card stock (4” x 3”) (126843, 8-1/2” x 11”, 24 sheets, $6.95)
* Very Vanilla card stock (3-1/4” x 2-1/2”) (101650, 8-1/2” x 11”, 40 sheets, $8.50)
* Comfort Café Designer Series Paper ("DSP") (4” x 1”) (126898, 12” x 12”; 12 sheets, $10.95)
* Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack - Neutrals (5-1/4" x 4") (12" x 12", 40 sheets, $21.95)

Accessories:
* Stampin’ Sponge (101610, 3/pkg., $3.50)
* Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue (110755 $3.95)
* SNAIL Adhesive (104332, 472”, $6.95; refill 104331, $4.50)
* Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430, 300 pcs., $3.95)

Instructions:
(Unless otherwise indicated, SNAIL Adhesive is used throughout)

1. Score 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock at 4-1/4"; fold away from scoreline to create card.

2. Use River Rock Stampin' Pad to stamp "typed words" image on Very Vanilla card stock (you'll have to stamp it twice, side by side).  If you miss some of the spots or don't get completely to the edge, that's ok -- we want to have a weathered look to this card.

3. Use Early Espresso to stamp "daring adventure" image in center of Very Vanilla card stock.

4.  Use Soft Suede Stampin' Pad and Stampin' Sponge to smudge ink around edges and over parts of the Very Vanilla card stock.  As long as you have the sponge inked up, might as well smudge it around the edges of all of the other pieces too.

5. Adhere Soft Suede DSP (from Designer Series Paper Stack) to center of card; adhere Midnight Muse card stock over the DSP.

6. Adhere strip of Comfort Cafe DSP to coordinating strip of Soft Suede card stock; adhere over Midnight Muse with Tombow Multi-purpose Liquid Glue or Sticky Strip (it's going over several layers of paper, so these adhesives will hold it a little better than the SNAIL).

7. Adhere stamped Very Vanilla card stock to coordinating piece of Soft Suede card stock; adhere to front of card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A very easy card -- and a good one to add to your stash of boy cards!
